I have a variety of reactions to beards. Sometimes I find that they look distinguished. Other times I think they can be affected or intimidating.

Rarely has a beard ever made me want to punch someone in the face. Obviously I’m not the first person to react this way—you know that spike in his lip is a matter of personal security.
