Extra, Extra: Newspaper-Powered Cars?

Scientists at Tulane University have discovered a strain of bacteria that turns cellulose in old newspapers into butanol . Butanol is similar to ethanol, but you don’t have to modify a gasoline-using engine to use it, and it’s more energy-dense than ethanol is, closer to conventional gasoline. Just think: you could get up in the morning, read the news and have your morning coffee, then shove the paper in your car and drive off to work! Submitted by: Unknown
